Hello Everyone! I'm a newbie here
Posted by salenship on Thursday, March 13, 2014 8:22 PM

I just started building in Jan.  My daughter bought me the CVN 65 1:350 Tamiya,  I am very good with my hands so with a little reading on the painting aspects I think I built a real winner for the first timer!  I even came up with a few modifications on my own that turned out really cool.  I enjoyed it so much I am building a Huey for my brother in law.  newbie

Welcome to the Forums Jerry! Glad to have you aboard!

This is a very addictive hobby. Once your bitten, there's no going back. I've been building for 67 of my 73 years and I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. If you read a lot of the posts on the forum, you'll find that most of us have stashes of models that we may never be able to complete. I have enough to keep me building for about the next 200 years. Knowing that I'll never make it, my grandkids will carry on after I go to the great workbench in the sky. So, sit back, enjoy a sip or two of your favorite beverage Coffee Beer Drinks Toast and build away.

Oh, don't forget to post photos of your builds. That's what keeps us all happy. If you need any help or have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.Guys, and gals on here are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Welcome, Jerry. Starting out with Tamiya's model of the Big E is ambitious indeed. Congratulations. I'd certainly love to see some pics, especially of your unique contributions. We're always on the hunt for new ideas and better ways to do things. Welcome to the Forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy the place.
