Hi all, Just signed on to this site and forum. Old time model builder here, 67 yoa. Been in and out of modeling since I was a kid. I like mostly WW2 aircraft and vehicles with some modern military thrown in. I don't get heavy into weathering, I do light weathering and damage.

I do have a question. What are the colors of  Blackhawks used in Afghanistan? My son served there and "rode" to work daily in Blackhawks. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums! I don't know the answer to that question, but someone should be along to give you the answer.

Welcome aboard. Dive in and enjoy.

I use to see Blackhawks a lot when I was in Bastion in 08/09. Unfortunately I never got any pics of them and for the life of me I can't recall what colour they were. Now I am kicking, myself.

But I am pretty sure they were a dark colour which I assume is the standard one used, and those pics in that link do look familiar.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Not sure about the other services, but the Army uses green on it's Blackhawks. I can't quote the regs but it's all I ever see working at an Army Airfield on the Guard side. The only other colored Army aircraft I've seen was a grey colored Apache we got from the Carolina guard, apparently it cut down on heat caused wear and tear on the aircraft, but from what I heard, someone got in a lot of trouble by not sticking to the regulations for the coloring.
