Welcome Sign  There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the FineScale Modeler Forum.

Welcome aboard, dive in and enjoy. We welcome builders of all levels and the best way to improve is to post pics, ask questions and simply join in the fun.

Hi guys –

I've lurked around for a few months, reading advice on everything from photo etch to weathering, and I thought I’d say hello. Got back into building scale models this past Christmas when an old friend gave me a 1:700 USS Kearsarge, the ship I was stationed on when I was in the Marines. I figured I’d try to build it, and I’d probably fail, and that would be that. But to my surprise it actually worked out pretty well, and I decided to keep at it.

I’m a rank amateur but I’m trying to learn at least one or two new skills with each kit I do. I’m still doing almost everything with rattle cans and little bottles of Testors; I’m working up to investing in a good airbrush. I don’t really have a niche at this point. I’ve done three 1:700 ships, a 1:72 fighter plane, and a 1:48 helicopter. Still figuring out what I like.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the advice and help so far. See you around the forums!
