New Member with some older model questions

Sorry, I'm not sure why they are all turned.

That is one question that we all have encountered at one time or another. The answer is totally up to you. If you would like to see one finished to see how it looks, then by all means build it. If you want your son to "get the bug", help him build it. If you really want to see them sit in the closet collecting dust for someone (you, your son, your wife) in the future to make a buck or two from them, there will probably always be an e-bay or yard sale. If you can't make up your mind there is always "the flip of the coin".

I personally wouldn't save them. I like to build. I've been doing it for 67 of my 73 years and never regretted  a minute of it. Well, maybe a minute or two.

Yup, I'm with the old guy above. I'd say build 'em. Until Academy released their F-4B a year and a half ago, your Phantom would have fetched a pretty penny or three on eBay. Today, not so much as it has been outclassed by the new kit. The others are just ones that are great father/son builds, or for you to have a good time working on.

I'll second Fox and Stik - build them up and get your son involved. We need more youngsters in this hobby.

Also, i think if you do a search, some of those might still be available, albeit, not in that exact box, but the molds at least.  If they are, i can't imagine there's too much value in them.

IMHO, nothing is more valuable than spending quality time with your son. I would keep them and make the time to work on them together!

Thanks for the info guys. I am a huge fan of scale models of any kind and just recently came across these as well as a big box of parts that used to be the models I built when I was young. My kids are still young (6 and under) and these models are a little above their attention level, but they do enjoy helping with a snap-tite type of model from time to time. I think these will sit on the shelf for a few more years unless I get a wild hair to build one with them. The issue I see there is they dont have the patients, and I am a little OCD when it comes to doing things just right. haha.
