That is one question that we all have encountered at one time or another. The answer is totally up to you. If you would like to see one finished to see how it looks, then by all means build it. If you want your son to "get the bug", help him build it. If you really want to see them sit in the closet collecting dust for someone (you, your son, your wife) in the future to make a buck or two from them, there will probably always be an e-bay or yard sale. If you can't make up your mind there is always "the flip of the coin".
I personally wouldn't save them. I like to build. I've been doing it for 67 of my 73 years and never regretted a minute of it. Well, maybe a minute or two.
