I guess that I should have scrolled down here the first day I joined. I didn't realize this section was here til now. I hereby introduce myself.
My name is Lee. I have been modeling on and off for 43 years. I grew up on SAC bases and joined the Navy in 1972 ,just in time to make the last Vietnam deployment of USS Ranger (CVA-61). I was stationed on USS Theodore E. Chandler (DD 717) and USS Lexington (CVT-16) prior to ending my enlistment in 76. I started a Navy civil service career in Guam and then transferred to Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 1981 where I have been ever since. I have no real preference in the type of model I build other than that I find armor easier because it doesn't have to be as perfect as aircraft or ships. Mud can cover a lot of flaws!
A friend showed me a copy of Fine Scale Modeler in 1993 that sparked a long dormant urge to build models again and so I did. Thanks FSM! And now, thanks to the internet, I have found a fantastic new source of ideas and inspiration especially in this forum. After reading your submissions here, I know that I have found the motherload of genius that I have been seeking. Thank you for being here. Lee Barrows
