Hi all. Like a lot of you I started as a kid and got back into it later. I did a couple of tanks with my son a few years ago and have gone from a basic build and paint to now using aftermarket parts, an airbrush, etc. It's amazing what's out there now. Anyway, I have a specific question and I'm not sure where to post it. I search for the topic and didn't see anything, but I'm sure it's been addressed. My question is this: I just finished assembling Fruil metal tracks for my Panzer I, Ausf. B. (I used the plastic tracks in the Tristar Ausf A and although they came out great they are VERY fragile.) These tracks are really small. I just primed them with Vallejo track primer and the paint just rubs right off. I washed the tracks at least twice in soap and water. I've seen "blackening" solutions out there like "blacken it" and stuff from AK and Ultimate Burnishing Liquid. Should I use one of these solutions or prime with some sort of paint for metal? I worry that the blackening solutions will melt the REALLY thin wire/pins in these tracks or melt the CA glue that holds them together. Any help much appreciated!!!
