Welcome aboard!  sounds like you have the right plan for getting back into the hobby.  Enjoy the ride!  I remember getting back into it after a long time.  Blew me away with all the advancements....but know I use them too!  LOL!  Enjoy!

Welcome to the Forums Mike! Glad to have you aboard!

I retired in '98 and have been building for 69 of my 75 years.  You'll find a lot of help here.  Great people.

I am a retiree who has been threatening to build models again after a layoff of many decades.  After spending some time on various sites and purchasing a few copies of Fine Scale Modeler I have begun to amass some tools, kits, etc.  I am amazed at how many products are available and the skill of so many of those who have posted photos of their work.  I intend to start simple and work my way up to more and more detail work.  My primary interests are varied but right now I am on an airliner kick, mostly circa 1950s.  I have recently purchaed a Heller Lockheed Super G Constellation in 1/72 scale.  My first effort, however, will be a 1/48 Revell Stearman PT-17, of which there is an build post right in this forum from a couple of years ago.  I look forward to reading and occassionally posting.
