Welcome, Chris -

Hope you get to enjoying the hobby really soon, all of the new kits, building materials, paint etc. will present a new world of fun.

I'm a retired old Boeing herder too, 727, 707, 757, 747-200 and -400's, having a great time in this hobby. Might try some armor one day.

Good to have you here, welcome, have a great time.

Welcome to the Forums Chris! Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you for your service!

You came to the right place. Lots of members came here by the same route. I'm a little different.Wink I started building at the age of 6 (69 years ago) and never stopped. Learned a lot on this Forum. Don't be afraid to ask questions here. We've all been there and the help is great. With your background, you might be the one being asked for help.

Howdy!

My name is Chris, presently living in Del Rio, TX.

Grew up in Bellevue, WA, Air Force veteran (T-37, T-38, T-1, KC-135A/R/Q/T, B-737.

I usually model 1/48 scale but have taken brief (one kit or so) forays into 1/35 armor and 1/24 autos. Also enjoy balsa model airplanes and model Rocketry.  (I have a low sucess rate with the rockets, either blowing up or drift into the only water, sometimes thermal away!)

I started as a kid with Monogram's P-40.  Built a few Tamiya as a got older and could afford them. Really had a thing for Otaki's kits, just loved the small foil tube of glue included.

Stopped modeling on the way to college, picked it up after I left active duty, but it was a fitfull sporadic start stop due to (insert a littany and common issues with adult life) but now I am going to knuckle under and learn about all this new wierd stuff like Future, resin, photo etch, weathering and metal foil.

Cheers

Chris
