Thanks Gregbale and Bish for the welcome and feedback. I've been building for about 4 months now, and this particular kit was the first one I've been happy with. I built a Tamiya BMW R75, Panzer IV, and a Panzer II before this Hanomag, so i'm happy to have seen improvment! As Bish said, I'm stilly trying to develope some of the techniques. Especially weathering!

Thank you again!

Welcome aboard. I am sure you will enjoy your time here, theres plenty of scope to learn and pass on what you know.

Seeing that historical accuracy is important to you, unfortunatly this particular kit is pretty off the mark. But as a base for practicing painting and weatheirng, its probably a good choice. Also, try and find some proper DAK figures for future N African builds. But you have a nice looking bild there, as Greg says, just needs a litle more weathering.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Welcome aboard, Raindog! Always great to have another styrene addict added to the mix. Dive in, ask questions, share experiences, and have a ball!

As to your work---you didn't say how long you've been at the hobby, but it looks like you're picking it up quickly and well. Your pieces look quite well-done as far as I can tell. My only suggestion might be to 'dirty up' the vehicle a bit---desert equipment tends to show wear and weathering pretty quickly---but that may simply be a stage you haven't gotten to yet, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you're interested you can search old threads on topics like 'weathering' and 'dry-brushing,' and your fun---and accompanying level of challenge---will accelerate accordingly.

Fun is the key: do what you enjoy, and show it off proudly. Even the most accomplished 'experts' here---and I by no means count myself among them---started out as beginners. We're all learning new 'tricks' every day, and with every project, which is what keeps the interest level high---and makes forums like this one such a great place to 'hang out.' Hope you enjoy every minute of your time here.

Greg

Hey Everyone,

Thank you all for having me here on your forum! I'm pretty new to the hobby, and have been steadily working on a few kits for the past few months. My initial builds didn't come anywhere near how I wanted them to, so i've recently purchased my first airbrush, and have a number of skills i'd like hone. I've really enjoyed viewing this forum as a guest for months now, and am looking foreward to being a part of your community.  I have a few pics I'd like to share of my latest build. A Tamiya 1/35th Hanomag painted for North Africa. Please let me know what you think! Things I did right? Things I did wrong? I would like to shoot for as close to historically accurate as possible, but this was my first build with an airbrush, and my first attempt at weathering.

I've also put in a few of my figures, as i've steadily been trying to get better at them as well.

Thanks all!
