I would recommend studying the whole list of FSM forums.  Many folks get started in these forums just picking the Modeling Subject forum based on the type of model they are most interested in.  But there are other great forums, like those in the Tools, Techniques and Reference Materials area, or the Help section which contains forums on using the special features of the forums, such as how to post photos, etc.

Welcome to the hobby, and the forums! Modeling is seriously addictive. The more you build, the more you want to build. Lol. Great lookin model there. I've been building for 20 years, and I still suck at weathering. So, you're definitely ahead of the game. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Raindog & welcome!

That's a great first model. You should be especially proud of the detail in your figures and with the overall "feel" of the vehicle. I would suggest working with preshading on your next project; laying down a coat of a dark color in shadow areas, then building the topcoat in layers to create the highlights. It's easy and adds a lot of depth to the finish. There are a lot of how-tos in the Forum and in other internet sources.

Look forward to seeing your next build. Happy modeling!

Hey everyone,

Thank you for having me here on your forum. I've been getting into Scale Modeling over the past several months, and have really enjoyed this forum as a resource. I like to build 1/35th scale World War 2 figures and armor, an am about to try my hand at my first aircraft. I've most recently been learning how to airbrush and weather my vehicles, and while I realize I have a long way to go, I wanted to share some images of my latest build. It is a German Hanomag painted for North Africa. This is my first airbrushed piece, and my first attempt at paint chipping, so I hope I did not go overboard! Any input would be apprecited. What do you like, and what would you have done differently? I'd really like to shoot for historical accuracy and realism.

Anyway, i'm excited to participate on this forum and continue to learn from some of the fantastic information available here.

Thank you!

All the best,

-Raindog
