Welcome back to modeling- it has changed for the better (yeah more money too) but the results you can achieve are what dreams were made of in the 60s an 70s.

Welcome to the Forums!  Glad to have you aboard!

Most of the members got here the same way. If you have any questions/problems just ask away. we've all been there and done that. I've been building for 70 of my 76 years and build whatever strikes my fancy (and the wallet says OK). Good luck and enjoy.

Don't forget to post pics of your builds.

Returning to Model Building

I'm getting back into scale model building. I'm at an age where I've leaned to be more patient with it. I attemped to build my first model when I was about five or six years old. It was an absolute disaster, Between the glue and enamel paint I don't know what made a bigger mess. I remember also in the late sixties, early seventies there was a gas station that had a series of tiny antique car models that you could collect. I had attempted to build those with a little more success. I didn't catch the fever though until a TV show called moving on aired sometime in the seventies. At that point I became obsessed with tractor trailor trucks. AMT had a series of model trucks that I started collecting and building. At this point I started developing some skill at it. I wish I had the internet back then it would have taken alot of the trial and error out of it. anyhow I built models into my early twenties and at some point put it down. I've decided to take another crack at it here later in life. I purchased some motorcycle models from Tamiya. I've already built one of them and another is almost finished. I may get into military models down the road.
