hi all! newbie from ireland just signed on.
my name is liam and on/off have been modelling aircraft since i was a little one.
recently (within previous two years) diagnosed with diabetes, in and out of hospital as a result and found i had a lot of time on my hands, so picked up the modeling again. an old pal, who is VERY professional n his approach to kit building has /is "training me up" and i have some nice kits made.
preference is 1/48 scale and right now am trying to work my way through available kits to represent the irish aircorps. just finished a seafire and a vampire trainer. need the decals tho.
next up is hurricane mk l, mkllb and mkllc.

also, anybody know how to rig??
look forward to hearing from one and all.

Welcome aboard, Liam. Do you mean rig as in biplane? Out of my area, but I'm sure other forum members can help. Sorry about the diabetes-it does take some of the spontenaity out of things. Happy modelling. - Ed

Hi and welcome liam...

Glad to hear you are back into modelling. As for the rigging, I have used elastic sewing thread and a quick once over with a lighter flame to burn off frays and to stretch the line taut. I am sure others here have much better ways than me though , so good luck !

And welcome back to the hobby. Glad to hear that you got the watchful eyes of a mentor to guide you. Just to let you know that a lot of guys here are very good at building aircraft too. They'll be glad to share their experiences with you and give some pointers too... Anyway welcome to the community and being a beginner I do hope to learn things from you.

The name "Liam" is an Irish short-form of William.
