Hello from Kiefer, OK
Posted by PaulW on Monday, January 23, 2017 9:06 PM

I have been modeling for about 7 or 8 years now and have been on various other forums. Some good and some not so good. It was suggested by a good friend of mine, John Eaton, to give this place a try and see if I can glean any new techniques and maybe improve my modeling skills (which are really poor).

My biggest problem is rushing through a problem when I come upon one and that usually ends up in either shelving the kit or binning it entirely. So maybe I can become a better modeler. We shall see.

Cheers..

Welcome to the Forums Paul! Glad to have you aboard!

You've come to the right place. The members here are very knowledgeable and are ready to help out with any question/problem that you might have. Feel free to ask away. We've all been there at one time or another.

I've been building for 70 of my 76 years and have learned a lot since joining this forum. I find that I learn something new almost every day between these forums and FSM magazine. The guys, and gals here are very helpful. Check around to see if there are any clubs in your area that you could join. The one-to-one contact will help you immensely. Check out any local contests too. Eyeballing some of the great builds there is a great help too.

We have all had the problem you stated above. We've all had to learn to relax, take our time, enjoy the hobby and the skills will come with time.

Welcome to the Forums!

Patience and not rushing is probably something a lot of us have dealt with. It's enticing to finish a project quickly.

But even if you have to toss out an unsatisfactory effort, you'll not be tossing out the experience you gained; and the next one will be better!

Hopefully.
