Another new guy

I,m not really new to Fine Scale,but I am new to the forum.

I have slowly been getting back into modeling over the past year after taking a break ffrom it for the last forty years!

Judging how my first two models have turned out I would say that my skills did not get better in the fourty year absence.

I have been a big WWII aircraft and general WWII history fan since about the fifth grade so I do want to keep at it and improve so that I can build some of the planes of my heros.

The level of talent that I see in the pages of Fine Scale really blow me away and, at least at first,almost discouraged me from trying again but I have made up my mind not to worry about that and to just have fun.

I want to hang a few of them in my shop/garage like they use to do in the hobby shops that I frequented as a kid.

Finally, thanks Max for telling me about this forum!

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard!

The name of the game here is to relax and enjoy the hobby. The only person you have to please is yourself. I've been building models for the last 70 of my 76 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Well, there was that one time back in ................. Wink . If you need any help, just go to the section that you need the help in and ask (Aircraft, Painting, Tools, etc.), that's what we're here for.

Ah, I see you found your way to the site and welcome!

ace100b is a friend from the Hodaka motorcycle site that I swap stories with. Little did I know that we also had a shared intrest in modeling. He's a good sport and has a sense of humor, he should fit right in I thought!

Thanks very much for all of the welcomes.

I see that there is an unbelievable amount of tips and knowledge on here that will sure come in handy to make what I build a little more realistic looking.I do agree that the most emphasis should be on the fun of creating and hsitory-which is have the fun for me.

As Max said,we know each other from the Hodaka site and I,m gateful that he told me about this forum.Everyone on that site are very nice with a real family atmosphere and Max always has great post on how to,history and just general fun.
