You've come to the right place. The members here are very knowledgeable and are ready to help out with any problems/questions that you may have. I would suggest that you go to the Painting and Airbrushing sections of these forums and look around there. That's the place to learn about Airbrushing. They know places to go to on u-tube too where you can get great videos to watch that will teach you all you ned to know. I just got my first airbrush about 5 years ago and I'm still learning about it almost every day. Main thing to remember is to relax, take your time and enjoy. After all, that's what the hobby is all about.

My  worth. The new acrylics are great in airbrushes. Ready to use, easy to use and VERY easy to clean up. AND, extremely low odor to keep the Mrs. happy.

Welcome to the forums, Patrick!  And welcome to the world of airbrushing!  What kind of rig did your wife get for you?

I use a Paasche VL, with a Craftsman 1.5 hp compressor and a 3-gallon tank.  I got that because I can use it with air-powered tools, as well as with the airbrush.  Also, I don't need to worry about noise.

I recommend Tamiya acrylics, they're formulated for airbrushing.  I use their proprietary acrylic thinner, myself, but you can also thin them with lacquer thinner and get an absolute dead-flat finish.

It's a Master set up. Came with compressor and 3 different brushes. I've read about them and understand that they aren't bad for beginners.  And to Mississippivol, yes.  I am a big Vols fan.
