Bish Welcome aboard. I have a pack of spring clamps in a range of sizes, like these. And i have a couple of quick grip clamps. I am in the UK so can't offer any specific ideas of where to get them, but they should be easy enough to find.

I'm going to echo what Bish and David mentioned regarding choice of clamps. Those little black ones with the red tips are the ones that are most useful to me. They come in various shapes and sizes. The part I like the best is that they provide a good, firm grip but without a monsterous crushing force.
I build mostly aircraft so those little clamps are perfect for holding wing halves together while the glue sets. Same with holding other items such as bomb halves, wheel halves, tails, etc. When it comes to larger items such as fuselage halves, I'm finding that I'm using plain old masking tape for that.
One thing is for certain though. You can NEVER have enough clamps! Get them in all shapes and sizes. It's always better to have too many than finding out you have too few.

I use all of the above, in addition to a few of the spring clips for potato chip bags. Most can be had at either Harbor Freight, Hobby Lobby or the local Dollar Store.
...and...I haven't used clamps in years. I just use masking tape to hold parts together.

Those are god clamps and you can find many different ones while walking around hardware and grocery stores. I got some nice ones at Harbor Freight. They are 4" adjustable clamps and are usually $1 each. Another great clamp can be found in grocery stores or Dollar Stores. Regular old wooden clothes clips (with the spring). If you take the spring out and reverse the wood, you can make different shape clips including flat ends. Just be careful with the spring as it is VERY strong and can hurt if you catch your finger in it (don't ask how I know.

Hello everyone,
I thought I would join this forum to find some useful advice and motivation for working on models. I have dabled on and off with models of all kinds since I was a kid, I'm 28 now. I consider myself almost a complete amateur that needs a lot of help.
I don't have a particular type of model I like, I've built about a dozen or so over the years ranging from armor, air, sea, and even space. In the last few years I managed to get into painting figures for a popular 15 mm scale miniatures game. I haven't really worked on any kits because I seem to lose patience with the progress of the model if it doesn't seem to be going righ. I've realized over the years I have a good base of equipement to really turn this into a hobby.
First off, there were a few supplies I was looking to get and one of them were hobby clamps. I was wondering what you guys used and where I could get some. The king that I think would work well are some plastic ones that I have seen online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHLePLXQ3tc&t=250s however these type are sold out. I like how these don't require rubber bands and have a nice flat grip.
