I use a mask made by humbrol. Great stuff. Dries fast. However, i only use it to fill in areas. I always use tape if i need a sharp clean edge.

This is the stuff I use. Best stuff I have used and dries very fast.

Both Humbrol Maskol and Gunze's Mr Masking Sol Neo can be unfriendly to acrylics if applied heavily over an acrylic base. This also means they will eat through a Future coating on a dipped canopy, given the opportunity.

Note also that Humbrol maskol has a very offensive odour whereas the Gunze product has no odour at all.

I have not, maybe I was wrong thinking it would be some magical product or maybe I didn't use it correctly, but I think I tried the Microscale years ago and couldn't make it work.

Oh yes, this is the Intro Section,so welcome aboard.

Stik, thats the problems i often have.

A lot of Eduard mask sets indicate whereto use liquid mask. The 32nd He 162 set for example only gives you the edges for both part of the canopy, you have to fill in the rest. Useing it that way, i find it works find, just have to give it a couple of applications to avoid those pinholes.

I tried the Gunze and Microscale stuff. Neither one really impressed me, but I never tried using it as a filler with tape  edging. i never got good coverage from either product, with frequent pinholes showing up later on, edges were ragged, and removal often left little flecks that led to bigger problems...

I'm with Bish, Microscale for me. I apply it with a toothpick, rather heavily, working it into edges and corners while it's very wet. I also darken it with blue food color, makes it easier to see the coverage is sufficient. Usually just use it to fill inside areas of actual tape masks.

I use the Microscale one. Its the only one i have used, but i only use it in conjunction with pre cut masks to fill in gaps. When i first got it i tried it on its own and did not really like it. I found it tricky to peel off without taking off paint from the paints i want it on.
