Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! B-17 came in yesterday. Put a big smile on my face. Not really sure why I've never built one before as it's my favorite aircraft. Was planning on doing a representation of "Little Miss Mischief" but as half of it is aluminum I'm not feeling too confident with the buffable metalizer or alclads as I've never worked with them before and I wouldn't be content with silver. But I'm going on vacation soon so I'm not going to start this until after. That should be plenty of time for me to decide on a scheme.
welcome! i was out for a long time but have been back (on and off) about 14 years.
the biggest thing i've learned is we are our own worst critics! i don't post much, but you stick around here you'll learn more and more..... everyone on here is outstanding, don't be timid about asking a question about anything, you'll get help and guidance.

Hello Brad. Its 1/48. Truth be told I really wanted to do a larger 1/32 scale but it's been many years and I figured it would be in my best interest to start something a little smaller and affordable.

Hello all. As the title states I'm rekindling an old flame so to speak. I was an avid builder as a child. The last time I built a model was maybe 20 years ago.. I was around 8 at the time.. but I remember the nightmare situation vividly.. I was bringing my just completed F-86 Sabre to a model aircraft show in box and why I had a bottle of paint thinner in there I don't know.. (I was 8 mind you) but the cap was loose and leaked all over it and ruined it.. that was the last time I remember assembling a model. As of recently I've been building scaler RC's but found I enjoy building them rather then driving them.. so I'm getting back into modelling. I've got a B-17 on the way and planning to do a representation of the B-17G Little Miss Mischief. We'll see how it goes and thanks for having me!
