Good afternoon,
Posted by LT Thompson (ret) on Thursday, September 21, 2017 11:07 AM

My name is Tim Thompson, I am just getting back into modeling after a long absence. I just turned 59 on 9/11, married w/2 adult children and 5 granddaughters, ages 13, 11, 8, and two age 5. I build about anything right now. I am interested in military models, however, I also have a stash of cars.

My question is how can I find just instructions for model kits, I have several that were given to me or bought at flea markets without instructions. One kit in particular that I am trying to find is AMT Ertl kit # 8655, Viper RT/10 1995 Dodge.

Thanks

Hi, Tim -

Welcome to FSM, for instructions I have really good luck just doing a Google search for them. The kit number on the box is also a good reference when doing the search. Last resort: Check on EBAY for the kit, buying the second kit would get you the instructions, plus you could build another model.

Good luck

Patrick

Welcome aboard. Some on line stores include images of instructions as do some reviews. As mentioned, do a google search.

If that fails, post a question about a specific kit, some one may be able to e-mail you a copy.

Many Revell and Monogram kits instructions can be found on their website.  I find instructions many times doing a google image search.

Post a list of the kits you need instructions and you will find many forum members will be happy to scan and email you the instructions from their stash.

Howdy ! I have a P I L E  of instruction sheets from just about everything I ever built for the past 40 years.

Unfortunatly  I have never built the kit you need instructions for. Sorry.

Don't worry..... you will find them..... it just may take a moment.

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome, Lt. Tim!! Sorry I can't help you with the instructions, but, as has already been mentioned, you can probably find them easily on-line somewhere. Another website to look at would be www.scalemates.com , a website I was introduced to just a few days ago by stikpusher in these very same forums. I was surprised I had never heard of the site before now, as I have been modeling for many, many years, and have been on these forums since 2005. So, it shows that you CAN teach an old dawg new tricks! Good Luck with all of your modeling endeavors!

Hello Lieutenant !

Sir ! May I speak freely ! Bet you had enough of that in service didn't you ? LOL.LOL. Now for those instructions . I would recommend going to the Auto threads OR going to our sister Mag , and asking there . Both sites have very enthusiastic folks willing to help .

If you aren't sure , the sister mag is Scale Auto and it's also a Kalmbach Publication .Try www.scaleauutomag.com and go to " How Can I get " ....

This should get you an option . Oh , Sir ! Welcome aboard ! Tanker - Builder
