South OC CA Saying Hello.
Posted by Jrock83 on Saturday, September 30, 2017 7:32 PM

Not one for intros but I'll do my best. I have been modeling on n off for last 8 years and decided I better join this forum as I read alot of posts about all the wonderful work everyone does and listen to alot of great advice you guys give. Anyway, my completed models are: 1/25 32' Ford, 1/48 stearman pt17, 1/240 North Sea trawler, and currently working  on 1/25 63' split window Corvette. I have queen Mary and an f8 e and zero still to do among a few gundams. What's wrong w hording kits ;) Any modelers live in South OC CA? I also collect Legos and vintage toy lines as well as play guitar and bass. Prog is imo the best music (YES N RUSH) are benchmarks lol.

Welcome to the Forums Jason! Glad to have you aboard!

You have certainly come to the right place. I have been building for 70 of my 76 years and have learned a lot from the members here. I'm still learning something new almost every day. Don't be afraid to ask any questions as the guys and gals here are ready to help out anytime.

I build whatever strikes my fancy and my wallet says OK. Favorites are WWI & WWII planes and sailing ships bring up a close second as you can see from my avatar.

Enjoy!

Welcome, you have a great range of interests!

Stikpusher lives in OC, he's that guy getting out of the unit with flashing lights pulled up behind you.

One bug of this forum is it doesn't lend itself well to following different interests- kind of organized in sections. So make sure to browse around.

Welcome to the forums Jason.  It's cool that you build so many different things.  I pretty much stick to airplanes, but maybe someday I'll try something else.  I play guitar and keyboards.

Cheers, Mark

Welcome aboard! Grew up in Garden Grove, graduated from Pacifica High School in 1973, college at UC Irvine, and lived in Irvine and Mission Viejo among other places in the OC over the years. Now in the Bay Area for the last twenty.

Started with model cars and am now modeling 1/24 outdoor trains, but will be adding some old cars and trucks to the layout at some point. Also did the Queen Mary way, way back in the day. I come here mainly for general info on techniques, painting and weathering, and the like, but a really good group of people here. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forums Jason. I live in north OC, HB/Seal Beach/Westminster area. No musical talent on my part aside from calling cadences or karaoke w/liquid refreshments. I’m sure we probably visit the same shops for kits and supplies as there are not many left in the area.
