thanks mate, im wondering if i contaminated the solution with a bit of paint or something from the brush. ill get new brushs and new sol for then next three models i have planned.

For my life I can't see the problem. Really nice model, the dry brushing looks good.

I try not to use decal solution, but on a rough surface like a tank it's probably necessary. Try cleaning it up a little with a moist paper towel and a little rubbing.

EDIT: I see you mean on the hull sides. You're gonna jusy need more grime.

Dont use Photobucket to post your pictures. They recently destroyed most of this forum with their "ransom demand".

Try using Postimage.org

They are free and easy to use.

Somehow I can't see the picture you're talking 'bout. As for your question - the general opinnion is that you should put the decals on glossy surface for best results, so putting a gloss coat at least on the general area where the decals go would help you. Mind you, if you make a glossy "spot" with visible edges on a model it might show from underneath even several layers of whatever you put on top of it. So the gloss area should either have feathered edges, or those edges should align with the edges of surrounding parts, then it might look OK. Or you gloss the whole model, and then put the decals on, some more gloss and then the flat coat on top of that - that gets all your bases covered.

Afraid i can't see your pic at the moment, i am on a work computer which blocks a lot of stuff. Isthe paint you put the decal on gloss or flat. I have never hadthat issue, but then would be hardto notice when applying it to a gloss surface.

I havent had decal solution make a "Glossy" spot on a model. But I have had it cause the gloss to come off the paint once or twice.

Maybe hit the spot with a light spray of Dullcoat ?
