replacement canopys
Posted by skip pinkerton on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 8:10 PM

just purchased old tamiya kit 1/32 f-15E from ebay seller with high ratings. after examing the kit, only problem seems to be both sections of the canopy has been broken into several parts rendering it useless. I bought this kit because of the low price (maybe thats why). because of the low price I dont really want to make a return. Does anybody know of a source for replacment canopy? the rest of the kit looks to be in excellent condition. thank you!

Check with Tamiya customer service for a replacement part. They are top notch.

Squadron on-line usually has a good line of replacement canopies.

I had a model 1/32 scale Revell model (F-15E) that the canopy cracked down the middle. Try this! Contact customer service at Tamiya and ask about a replacement part, provide model number, type of plane, scale size for reference and ask if it can be replaced. I had the same situation with an ACADEMY CH-47, but I was missing 37 parts and the model was not in production anymore. I contacted ACADEMY (MCI) and asked about replacement parts, I GOT LUCKY.... most companies that build model cars, planes have reserve parts on hand and even if you have to pay, it's worth it, I paid 14 dollars for the parts I needed. Just contact customer service on line, if you have that information or google the company for email address or phone number>>>>oh I forgot, contact Ebay and provide the condition of the plane you bought, the sellers must provide a complete and accurate description of the condition of the model. It counts against the seller if the model was not up to par.
