Maschinen Krieger is a series created by a Japanese graphic artist and modeler, Kow Yokoyama, back in the 80s.  He came up with illustrations of armored fighting suits, AI combat machines, and flying machines, then built models of his illustrations, using all kinds of kits as donors.  He also wrote a backstory for his creations, and the story ran in Hobby Japan magazine, back in the day.  Nitto originally signed on to produce kits of his creations, and later Hasegawa and Wave produced them, and still do today.

There are a lot of interesting designs, and the kits are mostly 1/20, 1/72, or 1/35.  The great thing about them is that there aren't any rivet counters.  There's a lot of tolerance for using your imagination.

I recommend them, if you might think about building any.  They're a lot of fun!

Best regards,

Brad

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

No Brad, I haven’t. What’s in their range?

I’m working on two 1/48 Meteors at the moment and researching a 1/35 Blackhawk build which should be next.

Welcome to Finescale, Troy, and thanks for sharing those builds with us!

You've got an interesting range of subjects there.  Have you ever built any Maschinen Krieger kits, too?

What are you working on at this time?

Best regards,

Brad

G'day from DesTROYer in Australia
Posted by DesTROYer on Monday, May 7, 2018 4:57 AM

G’day everyone, My name is Troy, I’m 43 and from Narre Warren, Australia.  I’ve been back into modelling now for around 6 years after a 25 year break and am loving it. I build mainly RAAF Aircraft, Australian Army Armour, Real Space and Sci/Fi.  I even have a few RAN ships in the stash to build.  I mainly build 1/48 and 1/35, though recently have been really enjoying 1/32 and adding heaps of scratch built detail.

I’ve been a subscriber to FSM for 5 years now and have been lurking here on the forums, admiring your builds for about as long. Thought it may be time to share some of my builds with you all.  Thanks for having me.

Here is my most recent completed build.  Tamiya’s 1/100 Space Shuttle alongside the Dragon 1/72 Apollo 11 Lunar Lander

Here is the Academy 1/32 F/A-18B Hornet done as a RAAF 3 Squadron bird.

An Esci 1/48 Australian Army Kiowa Helicopter.

1/32 Tamiya Mustang RAAF 77 Sqn Korea.

1/48 RAN Grumman Tracker.

Whilst cleaning my cabinets out recently I took the opportunity to photograph many of my 1/72 and 1/48 RAAF aircraft (and a RAN Collins Class Submarine).

1/144 Revell QANTAS Boeing 737-800

My Australian Army Armour.

Some of my Sci/Fi builds.

Thanks all for looking.  If you want to see more, here’s a link to my finished builds. https://www.flickr.com/photos/destroyer8564/albums/72157691025073871
