Thank you for letting me join the community.... I've been a reader of fine scale modeler from the very beginning... and taking a small break from modeling I got back into doing dioramas and figures and I could not help to think about the old issues that I used to read back in the 1980s and if somebody on your staff or if anybody in the community can remember the elderly gentleman that used to post and the magazine I'm going to guess it was in the 1980s and he was an elderly gentleman and he did a lot of the figure painting and figure diorama if somebody could remember his name I've been trying to find out I know it was not SHEP PANE... thank you

Maybe Bob Letterman, some of his dios appeared in FSM,The Winds of War comes to mind

My guess would be that you may be thinking of the late Ray Anderson, who was a fantastic diorama builder. His works were featured in several magazines, including FSM, and I think that some of his books are still circulating.

The entire website is a treat for diorama fans, so enjoy it and welcome!

Wow, that was a good one! It never ceases to amaze me some of the questions that get answered here at FSM.

Thank you for your reply...... I know it was a hit or miss question.... now I wish I would have kept some of my old issues of fine scale modeler I'll have to keep a look out and see if any would be for sale from the early 80s.... I can just remember seeing the man's face in his articles he did a lot of fantasy figures and diorama one issue he took the shell of an old small television set and built the diorama inside of it which I thought was really neat but thank you for your reply and I hope I can talk to you in the future!

In any case, either he passed away or no longer on FSM. Keep in mind you're going back at least several decades....
