Good morning everyone.

My name is Mike and I'm from Monroe, Michigan. I got into model building when I was a kid back in the early 70's. I built more than I could possibly ever remember. My favorites were airplanes and cars, although I did do some ships. I use to hang the airplanes from the ceiling with dental floss and had cars lined up on my 4 shelf bedroom dresser.

I got back into the hobby last summer. Just on a whim, I searched plastic model kits on the net and bam, I was hooked just like I was when I was a kid. I'm 54 now, but with the heart of a 12 year old. Instead of using rattle cans, enamals and smelly paint thinner for cleaning, I now use an airbrush, acrylics and water. So much easier now a days.

I look forward to checking out the posts and interacting with the forum.

Mike

Welcome back to the hobby, Mike, and welcome to the forums!  You're traveling a road that most of us have also traveled.

I look forward to seeing your builds!

Best regards,

Brad

Welcome ;

 And I agree with your sentiment about the pillow .

I can't take credit for it, it's a line from John Mellencamp song Minutes to Memories. Has to be my favorite song from him, and I am a huge fan.Bow Down

My wife says the same thing, hence my 54/12 post topic.Smile

My buddy and I use to go to the neighborhood drug store and buy cheap kits only to blow them up with fire crackers.Devil

On a plus side, my 12 and 15 year old boys have gotten into models too.

Welcome. You are in a special club of mid lifers rediscovering this hobby. I am one as well and have run across many others. like you I now use acrylics only, and an airbrush. It has opened up a whole new world of modelling compared to our youth.
