Stu Pedasso

Hello all,

Well, I am now 65 and officially a fossil.

But, I now have the time to build some of the kits I have been accumulating.

I will be sticking to 1/32nd scale as my eyes aren't what they used to be.

I found amazing new capability after having cataract surgery on both eyes.  I have talked to many modeling friends who discovered the same things. Have you had eyes checked for cataracts?  I now can by high powered reading glasses from dollar store- have two pairs, one medium closeup and one extreme closeup.

However, have not found a way to control deterioratioin in manual skills (fingers).  I had been giving up small scale, but have decided there is something to the " use it or loose it" idea, and have gone back to small scale (1:72 and 1:144 planes and 1:700 ships).  It does seem to work somewhat, though not back to when I was younger.

Welcome to the Forums Stu! Glad to have you aboard.

Ditto on what Little Timmy said. I've been retired for 20 years and that dreaded "Honey Do" list still keeps me out of the workroom for days at a time.Wink

PS - Try Sprue Bros. for decals, they have lots and you might get lucky.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Beware, of the "dredded" honey - do - list !  Bane of modeler's world wide.

Welcome to FSM.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Hello all,

Well, I am now 65 and officially a fossil.

But, I now have the time to build some of the kits I have been accumulating.

I will be sticking to 1/32nd scale as my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Say, I bought a Hasegawa 1/32 OA-4M off of the eBay but the decals are shot.

Does anyone have a set or source available to a needed modeler?

Kindest regards,

Stu
