Hi, All

I enjoy modeling much more than my limited skill would indicate! Most of my models are of movie, TV and sci-fi vehicles. I have a 1/32 Proteus from Polar Lights I'm working on now. I use colored Sharpies to "paint" them and the result seems to work pretty well! I have much more control of what gets colored than I do with a paint brush. My other models include '66 Batmobiles in a few different scales (is there any other true Batmobile?) a 1/8 James Bond Aston Martin from Eaglemoss, the spaceship from the TV show My Favorite Martian, A 1/350 8-Window Seaview, 1/128 Seaviews, both 8- and 4-Windowed versions, a Man From UNCLE spy car and various other sci-fi models. My new pride and joy is a Polar Lights unbuilt 1/350 TOS USS Enterprise with PL lighting kit and weathering decals. I'm really going to take my time with that one. Usually I don't putty and sand seams or paint every little detail since my hands are just too shaky for detail work. On this one, though, I'm going to try to at least get rid of all the major seams.
I am in awe of all you real modelers!

Hi Tom! Welcome Sign to the Forum!

All that matters is that you're having fun working on your models.  Hanging around the forum, seeing all the great work here and learning from others does inspire you towards improvement, which I guess is a good thing.

Other than that, don't sweat the small stuff!  Just look towards improving your builds one step at a time.

Do share some of your work with us.  You can learn how to post photos over at the technical section of the forum.

See ya!

Hi, Tom!

I have to echo what Edwin said. As far as real modelers, we're all of different skill levels here. If you look at my Hobby Boss MkII Hurricane on the Weekend Madness GB, you'll see my first kit in 30 years and it ain't pretty but I learned alot and had great fun. Also got over my fear of showing my work.

So jump in and join the fun. We're happy to have you join us.

I am in awe of all you real modelers!

Do you mean "awe" , as in  speechless admiration ?

or, do you mean "awe", like my wife looking at my model's ? ( Awe, there so "cute".)

Or, in my case........ Awe, you really messed THAT one up.

In any case, I think it's "Awesome" that you joined the most Awesome forum there is !

Welcome to FSM.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Welcome!

Be careful with Sharpies. Quite a few clear coats will make the ink run.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
