Modeler just having fun
Posted by Tomcat on Sunday, April 7, 2019 9:41 AM

Hello all,

I just wanted to say Hi. I'm returning to the hobby after about 30 years. Like many of you I have a large stash of models. Nothing really great, mostly Monogram/Revell.

I am getting back and just want to have some fun, getting these built, while I still can LOL.

I am not a rivit, seam or weld counter by any means, just want the simple pleasure of building models.

I like looking at all your efforts and builds, really a lot a fantastic model builders here.

Welcome Tomkat.

We are in the same boat...50 year hiatus for me. I agree, building for fun is that simple pleasure.

And a double welcome from Southeastern PA.   A big Yo! from Philly.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, warm welcome and encouragement.

Back in the day I belonged to the young modeler builders club. It was run by Revell. Every month or so they sent me what looks like a show box with one or to models in plastic wrap. They would be a complete kit with a little picture of the model and a brief description of the subject on the back.

So to get my modeling skills to improve and experiment on weathering and painting I am working through all these models. I want to get a little better, ah..make that a whole lot better before I tackle that B36 Peacemaker and B58 Hustler models I have.

When I can, I'll post some pictures.
