So I have a question. I am considering buying a 1/48 scale Revell F-16C Eagle. ( Sold at hobby lobby)  It appears to have just a few missiles and nothing else, so I was wondering if I could get any extras for it .along with additional pylons and some bombs. Any ideas ?

If you put this in the aircraft forum, you will have more chance of getting the help you need. I don't don't 48th myself but there should be plenty of after markets sets around for the bombs at least.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Welcome to the forums,as Bish says try to learn the appropiate sections of the forum.

But anyway, since you are new,Hasegawa used to make at least 3 1/48 weapons sets, may have to check ebay or google for availability

Hasegawa makes them for 1:72 and 1:48 scales. Plenty to choose from.

Thanks. I knew about Hasegewa. But was not certain if they would work for the kit I'm thinking about. It's something I'm still kicking around. I am about to start work on a Revell 48 scale FA/18E  Super Hornet. I'm going to build mine as a Swiss Air Force, purchased the Decals I want for it thru a site online.

The hard part is coming up with the pylons. There are plenty of weapons out there.

The Swiss don’t fly Superbugs,  currently just Legacy C & D Hornets.

IIRC, from my time working on the Hornet pilot training devices,  while the Hornet may be compatible with various A/G weapons the Swiss operate their aircraft in a defensive mode with A/A weapons.

Aside from the US, only Australia currently uses the Super Hornet. They have the F and G models.

Hi Ed, Thanks, yeah I did some research to see what they are flying C/D varients. BUT. Since I have a Super Hornet. I decided to make mine a Swiss Marked bird.  ( Been watching too many Swiss fighter jet videos LOL )  I am also thinking about getting a Mirage IIIC. Not sure how I'm going to mark it.  Mostly right now I'm trying to figure out IF I get an F-15C model  Sold at Hobby Lobby. I noticed it only has a few missiles .but I would like to add a few bombs to it. Do the C models even carry Bombs ? Or is that just with the E models. So far this Hornet is giving me some issues with proper alignment. BUT  workuwo thru it.

I looked it up and it seems to indicate that the C isnt ground attack capable. You are correct, the E or Strike Eagle was designed for ground attack.

But it seems your not heavy into accuracy,(not that there's anything wrong with that),so if a C is all you got ,then try it.

In their normal mission, the C models don't carry bombs. I believe they can, physically, but they don't usually. Their primary role is as an air superiority fighter and their crews aren't trained for bombing. F-15C's are missiles only, a mix of AIM-7, AIM-9 and AIM-120

If you want to hang bombs under an F-15, you'd need an F-15E (or one of its export variants)

Thanks .LOL .Then I guess it's another F-15E for me. I had built one years ago. But it ended up getting trashed. Landing gear collapsed on me. It came with a full load out .and I guess it was too heavy. I had mine painted black similar to the one a member recently posted pictures of here. That or I stick with the C Model. Like I mentioned .I'm still kicking the idea around,  thank you for your input. It's much appreciated.

Thank You, LOL Mostly I am .but every so often I like to step outside the box. Besides. It's not like I'm going to be showing it. And yeah I will stick with the C Version. Or just buy another E. I Had one once, awhile back. It turned out pretty nicely. Except for the landing gear collapsing on me .
