Good morning,
I'm from Sydney, Australia.
Been collecting and building F1 model kits in 1:12/1:20 and 1:18 scales for decades.
Some years ago, f1 diecast models from the likes of Minichamps/Spark/GP Replicas etc, were released minus the banned tobacco decals, in recent times various decal manufactuters have released the previously banned decals, PC or not I wanted the cars to be true to their era so I purchased the decals and applied them to the cars that were missing decals, easy because the areas were blank until I came up against a recent purchase, an Alfa Romeo 179 from Looksmart which was sponsored by Marlboro but the model was released with a barcode decal on the sidepods where the Marlboro decal should have gone, my dielema is not having removed a decal off a diecast model I am not sure how to remove the barcode decal, any advice please.
Many thanks
Geoff.

Welcome Geoff, I'm afraid I can't be of much help can only suggest you go down the Forum to tools and techniques and post the question there. More chance of a helpful answer.

Welcome. My first thought is that a diecast would be painted in enamel or possibly powdercoated. I'd be inclined to try a couple of soakings with a hot decal setting solution, followed by a gentle fingernail scrape after it softens up.

I like the older front engined F-1, not so much the recent rear engined stuff, though I build one now and then. Favorite car is the Maserati 250.
Welcome to the forums. While I suspect you will probably hang out mostly in the autos forum, do not neglect others, particularly in the Tools, Techniques and References section. There are some great forums there on tools, materials, painting/airbrushing, and decaling.
