HD still lists it at $350, Got it for $250...he got rid of a body tech who owed him $$, and didn't want it so I grabbed it.
Of course that was when I was single and had disposable income and the other two $$$$-grubbing money pits arrived---the motorhome (2K in the last month) and house remodel. LMAO, those days are gone.

Welcome to the Forums!
I never even thought of using anything but an old kitchen table!
New or used drafting tables are often a real bargain, since so few people do that kind of drawing. Pluses are the adjustable height and angle; and they often come with drawers, front tool trays, and sometimes even lamps. If you have Craigslist, you probably won't have to wait long to find a good one for your needs at a "right" price.
Welcome to the forums!
I use a couple 6 foot folding tabls that I purchased from Sam's club. $45-50 each. I'll use these until I build some custom tables for my modeling. Which at my build rate, won't never happen!

If you have a used office furniture place nearby, that is a great place to go. You could get a perfectly good used desk with drawers on each side for a lot less than new. Might be scratched up a little but you will probably spill paint on it or scratch it up yourself as the years go by. That's what I've been using for a long time and it works great. Also try Good Will or a Re-use shop.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
I had a great custom built wrap around workbench in my last house. 3 Walls in a 1 car garage. That was awesome. In my current house my wife and I share one of the rooms for hobbies/office. We are using the fold up banquet tables from costco. Cheap and roomy. We got couple rolling undertable drawers of of wayfair. If I were headed back to the garage I'd do a custom bench again, but where we live now it's either too hot or too cold out there. Staying in the multipurpose room (models, sewing, dollhouse, aquariums, guitars, computers) we will stay with tables. I am looking for a vintage tanker desk for my office section.
Thanks,
John
As Tojo said, post in General Modeling Discussion or FSM Ready Room and you'll get lot's of looks.
I bought matching ones for me and her at Ikea, on line cheap. Came with a top, legs at one end and an undercounter chest of drawers.
I think it was called LINNMON/ ALEX $ 125.00.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Welcome to the forum, topics here are divided into sections for better acess, you posted this in the Introduction Section, probably best responses would be in the Tools Section.
Probably the best option would be to design something custom to fit your needs, but if you cant build it yourself, and have to hire someone,it will cost you.
I bought a bench from Lowes, one of those metal ones with drawers and peg board and light.$100-200.Available also at Home Depot,Amazon,or Harbor Freight.
Hello everyone,
I am unboxing some kits at the home we're at right now but not have a table to build them at.
I was wondering if the forum could answer the following.
Which in your opinion is better? Custom made hobby table versus something bought at an art store or craft supply outlet?
If you have purchased a ready-built table which ones are the best?
