Used Tamiya Clear as a thinner
Posted by sirtim on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 12:54 PM

Now in my seventies I've have returned to modelling aircraft.  I've been fairly successful with the Airfix 1/24th Typhoon and Mosquito.  Now building the Liberator.  I used Mr Hobby Interior Green but stupidly mixed Tamiya Clear for my air brush (had the wrong glasses on) and have now got a high gloss interior!  Any advice on how to dull this down?

Hi sirtim! Welcome to the Forums. Glad to have you with us.

If you haven't closed the cockpit up in the fuselage yet, you could just spray a coat of clear flat over top of the gloss. That will dull it up.

Hope that this helps.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Apologies for delay in responding. Many thanks for the tip.  It took a couple of coats but I now have a decent finish.

Onwards and upwards!
