Hi Tojo72;
A " Pro-Modeler" is just that. He or she Builds on commission or on contract for others. I have for instance done models for Shipping and Oil Spill Cleanup firms( Maritime) then there's those like myself that have done work for States, GolfCourse designers, Architects ad Infinum.
We in most cases have made good to very nice money and sometimes it just barely paid the bills. It is really an artform in a way. The best I ever did was for Attorneys. Those cannot be wrong. But, those consume a lot of time in research.
Most folks don't realize that many large firms actually don't have Model Rooms or Studios. It's in their interest to farm this work out! There was a fellow in Atlanta who did this kind of work, Models for the Dept.of transportation and some Hospital build groups.ourse models were incredible. I contracted out to him for a Court Model needed by some Attorney. He hadn't done this, so he Contracted with me to get the model built. It was, when finished taller than I.
