Welcome and look forward to seeing some of your work.  Don't be hesitant about asking questions, we've all been there and the folks here are a wealth of knowledge and can help avoid the pitfalls.

New modeler checking in from South Korea

Hello fellow modelers!

New modeler and soon-to-be college student here. Just joined this new forum to learn more about this amazing hobby.

I have been building models for roughly 3 years now. I started building aircraft when I first entered the hobby, and now am mostly building armor. Fantasy models are not my type, unless they are historical prototypes. So you won't see Gundams or anything else anytime soon. Transformers are an exception.

I do brush painting for my models, with the occasional help of spray paint, due to the environment that I live in. Usually, my models end up being pretty decent, if I don't mess up big time.

When looking at my work, bear in mind that my skills are not as good as most modelers here, despite several years of experience. This is due to not being able to build continuously because of academics. I am not skilled in perseverence, so when one thing goes wrong, mostly in painting, I usually lose motivation.

Just fun facts about me, most of which is irrelevant to this community:

  • I lived in 3 different countries, and have travelled to 11, mostly in Europe.
  • I have lived half of my life outside of my home country, South Korea, and will be adding years to my overseas life.
  • I have friends from across the globe due to my attendence at an American school in Turkey.
  • I hate math, but I am somewhat good at it. (definitely not flexing)
  • I love learning about history, and thus love building more classic subjects.
  • I enjoy watching football(soccer) and baseball, but am not crazy over a certain team or player. I am not good at memorizing stats and information about each player of a team, so I usually do not spark conversation about sports.
  • I enjoy playing sports.
  • I am a retro guy. I follow some modern trends, but not everything. Very unusual for a teenager.

Now, fun facts that are actually pretty relevant to this community:

  • My favorite WW2 tank is the M4 Sherman.
  • My favorite postwar armor is the M48 Patton.
  • My favorite WW2 aircraft is the P-51 Mustang.
  • My favorite postwar aircraft is the F-86 Sabre.
  • My favorite car is the Porsche 356.

And that is all. This is me. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
