Shrikes; Not yet, I've been working mostly on "targets" lately. Latest project was the Tamiya 1/350 King George V. I'm just starting in on the Revell "Andrew Jackson". Yes, I know it's farby as all get out, but it's the only game in town. I built it (unpainted) many moons ago, before joining the Navy. I used to walk around the boat, trying to figure out how to paint the model when I finally got a new one. It's taken 20 years (+) to find it again. So, here goes nothing!

Thanks folks for the warm welcome. Dave you're right! Submariners tend to be quite hydrophobic. Rule one of the Sub Service; "Water in the People tank......BAD!!!" And KIK36, that should take about 15 minutes, tops. Big Smile [:D]

Hey Rick welcome.
Great forum...great people...Thanks for joining the ranks. My Navy background was designing and manufacturing the stores management systems for the F-14, F/A-18, and AV8B besides the kits I've been building.
I'll probably catch you in the ships forum sometime. I am reworking my 1/350 scale Enterprise carrier and its support fleet. (after I get out some space models for my company's display case)
Again welcome!

I dropped a few lines on the Ships forum, but I'd better introduce myself formaly. I go by Rick, Hey you!, and many other less complementary terms. I spent 10 years paddling around in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club. I was a Quartermaster aboard 627 class SSBNs and 688 SSNs. Went around the world once, and met my wife at a little garden spot called Diego Garcia. Decided that going to sea in something that looked like a sewer pipe, designed to sink, and built by the lowest bidder wasn't for me. Now I'm a Civil War reenactor, and I drag a cannon around the field. Ships, subs, and the occaisonal "Thing That Goes Boom." That's what I like to build
