Hello from the woods of SE georgia
Posted by ChuckL on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 3:49 PM

Hello everyone. I'm an old grey-haired guy now, but when I was young I used to love building models. Back then it was mostly WW2 ships and a few planes with some NASCAR cars included from time to time.

While I have been thinking about trying a NASCAR model again, I actually ended up here by accident, and the photos of the great work caused me to linger.

I decided to join up today. I figure if I do decide to make the plunge back into models it would be good to have a resource that I could come to with stupid questions. Hope y'all don't mind stupid questions because I probably have years worth saved up.

Thanks

Welcome.  Don't sweat the questions, I've asked my share and the folks here have been great.  I know I'll have more in time.

Welcome to the club! I am pretty new here myself and in to mainly WW2 battleships. I am currently building the 1/350 Trumpeter Queen Elizabeth, and have the Tamiya 1/350 King George V with a photo etch kit on the shelf waiting to be built.

Unlike you, with the exception of some uncomplicated, pre painted model cars in my childhood, i am completely new to scale modeling. This forum and the people here have been awesome! And have helped me tremendously, I am sure they wont mind answering your questions!

And like mentioned above, buy that model and get started!
