Belated introduction from St Helens, England
Posted by Daveash on Monday, April 12, 2004 5:24 AM
Hi to the forums,
I am Dave Ashcroft, (40 in May 2004), from St Helens, England. I am an electrical project engineer for a worldwide data / electrical installation company. Apart from modelling my interests include computing, DIY, watching rugby league and going to the pub.
I restarted my modelling career about 2 years ago after a 20 year break, in which I got married, bought a house, reared 2 kids etc. My return was kickstarted after I had built a shed / workshop in the garden and needed something to work on. I jumped straight in at the deep end and got the largest model in the LHS, at the time it was the Tamiya 1/350 Enterprise. I still regret that decision every time I see the almost completed hulk on a shelf in my shed. I will get around to completing it one day and apply the knowledge gained over the last 2 years.
At the moment I am working on a Tamiya 1/35 M1A1 for the group build, 3 No 1/72 patrol type boats, a Heller 1/200 Titanic searcher and I have just ordered a Tamiya 1/350 Fletcher complete with PE set from GMM.
I have found the internet an invaluable source of information on modelling and participate in many forums, covering all modelling subjects. I do not specialise in any one type of model but look out for interesting subjects, good reviews and advice from the modelling community.
I am also in the process of designing a web site so that I can display my photos.
That`s it for now, see you all around
Dave Ashcroft

Welcome, Dave. St Helens? We used to have a mountain somewhere over here by that name.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
