Greetings from Southern California
Posted by Sgenest on Saturday, August 28, 2021 9:01 AM

I built a few models in the late 60'. As I recall, they looked terrible.  Now, 53 years later I recently decided to try it anew. I completely honked up my first effort, a 1/72 PBY Catalina. Now I'm in the process of honking up a P47D bubble top. Thus far this hobby has been a quite, enjoyable diversion. Very happy to be here!

Welcome back to the hobby, Sgenest, and welcome to the forum!  Are airplanes your favorite subject? Any others you like to build, too?

I look forward to seeing your builds!

Best regards,

Brad

Welcome!

You are in the envious position of trying ANYTHING!

Star Trek, Gundam, you name it.

Orange County IPMS meets in your area, off of Valley View & Orangethorpe, 3rd Friday of every month. You should check them out sometime. It's a good group of guys.

Yes, Orangecon, the annual area contest open to all, put on by the Chapter. All sorts of modeling eye candy to be seen there. And this year will be good with even more entries than usual because of all the pandemic builds.

Another event by you to look forward to will be Spruefest in January at Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove.

You live in a good area for the hobby, supporting businesses, and events.
