Good evening from Georgia, USA
Posted by br6ppc on Sunday, October 3, 2021 10:08 PM

I am new to the forum. Just getting back into modeling after a 20 year hiatus. I've built mostly military models (aircraft, tanks and a couple of ships). Just got new airbrush, Iwata Eclipse CS, and getting all my tools stocked back. Got a couple of models waiting to be started. I found the first model I built way back in 1976, Monogram 1/72 scale Curtiss P-36A and I have one ready to be built. I also found what was my favorite aircraft model, Monogram 1/72 scale B-36 Peacemaker. Currently, I am working on a Tamiya PzKw IV H.  I really love building armor models. Love the Iwata Eclipse airbrush, but I miss my Paasche H for priming and base colors. I see a new one in my near future. The Iwata can't be beat for camo and detail work though.

Hey Shooter, welcome to the party. As you've probably figured out, there is lots of encouragement and help here after your time away.

Again, welcome

Welcome back to the hobby, BR, and welcome to the forum!

I followed a similar path when I got back into building models after a hiatus-building kits I built as a kid, nostalgia building.  It's fun to revisit those classics, and see if you learned anything in the meantime.

Interesting that you mention the Paasche H-there's a thread over at Hyperscale about that brush and the consensus is that with all the variety out there today, many still reach for the H.  I have a VL myself, but look on it the same way-rugged and reliable.  It's like a car from the 40s.

I look forward to seeing that panzer when you finished it, as well as those great Monogram kits.

Best regards,

Brad

Welcome aboard.  I do 95% of my work with my H.  So easy to maintain.

Thanks,

John

We are about the same local and same situation, but I am more building ship models, both space and water type.
