Hello, my babe is Steve screen name Thresher61, I am 61 years old, starting to build my 1st model in over 43 years nearly. I built many many models in my younger years with a great imiganition, had model planes hanging all over my room ceiling with thread w/ red dots painted on it for firing. I hv been buying all the upgrade section kits fro like Eduards etc, for a 1:48 scale B-17 build. I hv been using a airbrush fur quite a while but not for shading etc. on models. I live in north Texas, Keller Tx. I love saltwater fishing, building lures and guns for past time. also building a off road tube frame 2-seat racing sand rail. love meeting and helping people. hopefully I can help contribute to this form. Trying to figure out where to ask a question about modeling and hiw to post pics to forum thanks everyone. Thresher61

Welcome aboard, Steve. Welcome Sign Glad to have another inmate in the asylum. I think you'll enjoy your time here...it's a pretty good group, no raging attitudes that I've come across, and most everybody's happy to share ideas and techniques. Ask away, when you've got questions.

For posting photos in your threads, you'll need to put them up on one of the hosting sites first. (I use Postimage, which is free, but there are quite a few around with different features and storage limits.)

Once 'hosted,' copy the link the site supplies...then paste it into your thread here using the little picture icon above (insert/edit image), and it should drop right in. It's hard to be more specific because different sites use slightly different terms and such, but the hosting site link may be labled 'share' or may even specify forums. Once you've done it a couple times it'll become second nature.

Any questions or observations, just sing right out.

(BTW, I think you'll find many of us here are in your same relative age bracket. "Old enough to know better," as the old saying goes. Big Smile)

Cheers

Greg

Welcome! I've come back to modeling as well after a forty-plus year hiatus. Starting your comeback with a 1/48 scale B-17...wow! I can't wait to see it when built. Keep us informed of your progress.

Hi Steve! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

When you work on the B-17 and have questions just ask in the "Aircraft" section. When you have a painting question, ask in the "Painting" section. Don't be afraid to ask for help. The members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help.

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forum, Steve!  I look forward to seeing your builds!

As for adding images, I'll second what Greg said about using a hosting site-I use Postimage, too-but I'll add another flavor to it.  You can just copy a link from your photo host right into the body of a post, without using the Insert tool.  Just cut and paste, that's all I do.  Fewer steps.

Best regards,

Brad
