About to Retire (again)

    Hello you old retired guy! I use Rustoleum Dove Grey general purpose on my R.C. Projects. It takes as they used to say for a well known watch-"It takes a Licking and keeps on Ticking" I have used every weathering system I can afford but still do old school washes and stuff. My riverine boat(Built from a RTR boat Was cannabalized by someone else)

 I resurrected it and the first duty was priming the hull and deck. Still looks great for what it is! Nasty, Grungy ,and downright Hostile looking!

welcome back to the hobby. I too do alot of RC stuff. I have been checking out that jeep also. But the thought of making a halftrack never occured to me. I think that would be a great project. Looking forward what you come with. Check out the painying thread. There are alot of people here with great painting experiance. Again welcome aboard.

Congrats on your retirement Joel and welcome to the forums.

Check out the "Painting" section of the forums. That's where you'll find lots of great info on all types of paint and how to use them. 

I've been building models for 76 of my 82 years and for quite a while I've been using Rust-Oleum Universal Bonding Primer under enamels, acrylics and craft paints with no problems. It's sandable and leaves a nice smooth finish for the paint. Doesn't pull off when masking for Camo. I use white or grey depending on what color goes on next. This is just my  worth. The guys on the Painting section will give you a lot of good great info. I've learned a lot from them. Ask your questions there and you'll get lots of answers..
