Returning to model building after a long while
Posted by MFannin on Sunday, December 10, 2023 12:40 PM

I'm returing to model building after more than a few years.  I like to build figures (resin or plastic), models with diaromas, mostly sci-fi, space, and aircraft.  I've scratch built a few communications satellites for work and fun.  Also interested in trying to build pre-historic fish (wire, clay, lighting etc).  Still a thought in progress there...  Looking forward to be back in contact with creative and talented people.  All the best.

Hi there! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard. Looking forward to seeing your work.

I've been building models for 77 of my 83 years. You name it and I've built it. My favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships.

You've come to the right place. Members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions/problems that you might have. Don't be afraid to ask for help. That's what we're here for. No such thing as a dumb question. We love to see pics of your work. I've learned a lot here and expect to learn a lot more before I go to the great workbench in the sky.

Stay safe.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Thank you for the reply and encouragement.  Feels good to even be thinking about model building again.  I'm going to make more dioramas to compliment the models this go round.

All the best to you,

Mark
