Yes welcome. Rick; that stuck me as well reading Benjamin's intro.

And Ben, he's definitely still here.

Hey Benjamin,

You definitely started with the right subject area.  The Gunpla kits are incredibly well-engineered, from the way the parts can come off the trees to the perfect way that they fit together.

Now that you're moving to aircraft, you will find that there are no aircraft kits as perfect as the gunpla were, but these represent something real, and each one gives you an opportunity to wrestle with some imperfect aspects of the kit.  I hope you enjoy the heck out of the challenges that come with our hobby.  Your grandfather gave you a terrific gift, getting you started.

Welcome aboard!
Rick

Welcome Sign aboard, Benjamin, glad to have you with us! Hope you enjoy your time here.

As Jim said, it's a great group, with all kinds of different interests and levels of experience. (He's got a decade or two on me, but I've been at it for -- gulp -- more than a half century, myself, and still see new tips and tricks all the time.) Dive right in and share your work if you've a mind to...photos always welcome!

Cheers

Greg

Hi Benjamin! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

Welcome back to the hobby. You've come to the right place.

The members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions/problems. Don't be afraid to ask questions. There are no dumb questions, only the ones you don't ask.

I started building models in 1946 (6 years old) and never stopped. My favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by Sailing Ships. I'm still learning.

Stay safe.

Hello, my name is Benjamin and I just started getting back into modeling a little more than a year ago. I used to model tanks and planes as a kid. I was never any good, but my grandfather helped me and I always thought it was neat. I grew up though and put down my snippers and paintbrushes. During the pandemic, I burned through my old video game library and I decided to try my hand at modeling again. I started off with some gunpla, but quickly transitioned to building model aircraft. I'm still not that good and my grandfather passed away, so I can’t ask him for help, but i still think its neet. I've picked up little things here and there and i've built up my confidence but there are still a few things i would like to be better on. Of course, I also want to show off my work and get some input, my girlfriend can only tell me good job so many times.

Anyway, Thanks again for having me and I'm so happy i finally took the plunge and made a profile. i look forward to working with everyone.
