Hello.
This place looks to be a weatlh of information, knowledge and traffic. I'm sure I'll be doing alot of reading for a while, to get up to speed on things.
I'm trying to get started in the scale modeling hobby. I've never had the pleasure of doing a model before and just recently started looking into it.
US Navy aircraft of any era is what really does it for me. I recently put several aircraft into a hat and drew the F4U-2 for my first piece. I am eager to get started, but currently waiting for some missing parts (34 to be exact).
I am not going to limit myself and say that aircraft is where I'll stay. I would like to experience the majority of aspects that the hobby has to offer.

Welcome!! that first model usualy is a random thing. I was 7 built the f18 prototype. Never have figured out why. Don't even remember picking. I do trying too put it together is the back seat of a car at night going home. It was blue, my favorite color and liking the swing vote in my decision. See you around!! Picked a scale yet?

Cage - Welcome to the forum. I hope your not discouraged by the missing parts. Patience is a good tool which is needed in this hobby. My first kit was the original USS Enterprise kit with lights. See ya around.

Hi Keith, and welcome to asylum. You'll find this place a wealth of information. I wish they're been a place like this when I first started (late 60's-pre computer).
