A New Member-Thank You
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 5:19 PM
I just want to say "thanks" to all of the people posting on this forum. Special
thanks to: Mike V, Saltydog, Music City, and even 1337 (I do enjoy his humor-sometimes).
I had been airbrush painting for a number of years, mostly painting my fish decoy carvings, but am now getting back into model building, aircraft in particular. Actually I recently discovered this forum and have been "Lurking" in the background reading the posts, studying the various thoughts & ideas, mostly concerning airbrushing in particular.
I started out with a Binks wren"B".Bought it about 45 years ago and at that time it truly was "a state of the art airbrush!!". (still have it-its kinda beat up, but, it still works fine !). I progressed to a Badger 150 (all three heads/needles), a paasche H & VL (All three heads & needles also) They are all excellent airbrushes, and do work well if you watch your paint thickness, and keep them clean!
Last year, again before I found this forum, I purchased a Badger 360 universal,
and the Aztec A470. The Badger 360 is truly a great airbrush, its user friendly, easy to clean, uses only one needle/head and I like the gravity and bottle feed capability. As for the Aztek, I have only used it a few times and "it works for me"
But, recently I purchased the Iwata HP-CS. It came with the 0.35 needle-nozzel-cap. I also bought the 0.5 needle-nozzel-cap for it. This is truly a remarkable airbrush!! I especially like the cover on the cup, no more spills. As a matter of fact I am going to machine one for the Badger 360 cup.
Where is all of this going? Well again I just dropped in to say thanks to all who post here and all of the great tips. I have experiance airbrushing but am by no means an "expert" at it. Bottom line, with my getting back into modeling, I know the Badger 360 & 150 are up to the job and I kinda think I'm going to really like the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS.
Just thought of something. I live in Wisconsin Yeh I know "land of the cheese-heads" ( we also have the Packers too) anyway we have a company in this state that makes some really nice air compressors " Thomas Industries". From the posts I've read, no one has talked of them. When I have a little more time I'll tell you about them. That could be my little contribution of information to
this forum. Airbrushes and air supply are of equal importance as most of you should already know.
Thanks again and as Salty says "latter"

Welcome to the forum Pete and we appreciate your nice comments about those members who have helped you.
I am glad you like your airbrushes and I hope to see some of your work sometime on the forum.
Regarding football: I am an Oakland Raiders fan and have been one since about 1970. Big Smile [:D] Wink [;)]

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

Welcome to the forum, Pete. Glad to have you here and I'm certain you'll get a lot from the guys around here.

I'm also glad that we were able to provide a little bit of advice, although with your experience you should be advising us! Airbrushes are just tools, and like any other tool what one person prefers is not necessarily what another prefers. Also, just like tools, they are only as good as the hand wielding them.

Welcome aboard!
