New Kid on the Block
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, August 8, 2004 1:42 PM
Just wanted to say hello. I'm 40 years old and have been building (again) for about 8 years after slapping together who knows how many models as a youngster. I've been an airplane nut for as long as I can remember, so that's what I build. For the past couple of years it's been WWII in 72nd scale, and modern jets in 48th. Family and work take a lot of my time, so I don't build as often as I'd like, but manage to find at least a few hours every week. I model on a budget, and therefor usually opt for revellogram/academy rather than tamigawa, but don't mind the extra work. It gives me more $ to buy modeling goodies and references with. Anyway, that's what I'm into. By the way, this is the first modelling site I've become a member of. See ya!

Welcome to the forums! I too am 40 and an ex-airforce guy who has given in to the dark side of armour building. "Trust the force Luke" you too can build 1/35th scale armour. And let's be honest, a nice tank with mud and dirt on it looks infinitely more manly than a girly-man airplane! Enjoy the forums. I new knew how much I didn't know.......
