                        Hi Andreas, welcome to the asylum.

                        My fathers family originally came from that part of Germany (I'm told) back in about the 1860's. The family name was "Mann", but due to a mixup at entry the name was change to "Herriman".

                        ok I will be the first to ask... who is the pilot in the picture you have and why was he called the star of Africa? It would be an interesting model build to research his plane and build one...

                        I was in the US Navy and took patients from the Desert Storm war to the hospital at Wiesbaden, but the Navy doctor I flew with went to the University of Dusseldorf for his degree in Anaesthesiology. He married a girl from Dusseldorf. I spent several weeks there and that area was so beautiful! I was impressed with the castles traveling along the Rhine, but the beauty of the land in the Dusseldorf was great!!!!

                        I also met Claudia Schiffer when I was in Dusseldorf... but that is another topic not related to modelling... It was nothing special, she worked in the bookstore at the university then...

                        @ tho9900: Dusseldorf is not far away from my hometown - about 35 miles south of it (Gelsenkirchen). It is in the "Ruhr Valley", the largest industrial area in Germany and Europe.
