Back From the Depths
Posted by Seadragon021 on Saturday, October 2, 2004 3:13 PM
A few months back I closed my account on this forum and with it went my 120 or so posts. I left for a number of reasons, some to do with the direction the forum was going, some not. I didn't have any personal run-ins with anyone and I also left the model ship forum that I was on at the time.

To be honest I haven't built a model since 1987 which was a 1/48 Phantom II in Sundowners markings, you know the one with the multicolored rays on the rising sun? Such a cool plane. It's not that I haven't tried to build again. My 1/350 Dragon HAMPTON keeps calling to me. I took the tool box out the other day and looked at it. I suppose that's a start, but that's usually about as far as I get.

Anyway, I've been checking the forum the last few weeks and found that I miss being part of it. I like the changes and the direction it has been going. Truthfully, I'm a research hound and really missed helping people with their questions, something I was able to do on a number of occasions the last time. I found that it was therapeutic and sometimes took my mind off my troubles to help someone else. I also enjoyed looking at other peoples projects. You all do really great work.

So here I am again. My name is Richard and I used to be Breezely1. Since I'm starting over, I've decided to go with a new name. My main interest is submarines with an emphasis on the Cold War era. In my teens I built the entire Japanese fleet in 1/700, had at least two squadrons of BF-109's,and built the entire 3rd SS panzer division in 1/35, so as you can see I can be pretty diverse. Still love those Vietnam era Navy Phantoms.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. I've decided to make this my first post of the new era, and if you'll all have me back, I'd like to be part of things again. Some of the group builds I was reading about look really interesting.

Welcome Back Richard, a.k.a. Breezely, a.k.a. SeaDragon! ::thinking it is kind of suspicious for someone to have this many names, making mental note to call homeland security:: haha kidding...

Good to see you back! I don't think we had contact under your former account.. but seems you do have diverse likes! I love phantoms too... right now my focus has been mostly WWII aircraft but I am building my first jet since ohhh... ::counting on fingers:: 1986 or so right now... an AV-8B Harrier II... they were deployed with us my last cruise in the Navy and they were AWESOME!

Anyway good to have a good knowledgebase back in the mix... I am sure I will be hitting you up for help one of these days soon!
