Ok, I am just now "signing in" to this.
Started ages ago with 1/48 scale armor, dropped it all until about three years ago. I am now 37 and like most have MANY more kits than I will build. I spend most of my time researching the actual events or batltes, reasons for the specific build or model development and who fabricated the item rather than actually building the kit.
I got back into this hobby partly because of a horrible back thing that turned into a fusion and alot of what used to be gym time turned into slow-mo read and get well time.
I really like to take whatever I am building, look into it's own past and then super detail the heck out of it. One of my problems is I never actually fully complete a project.
So, I am poking my head around these forum things to see what I can see and who else like myself finds themselves actually completing their projects and how they turn out.

Welcome to the forums and hope you find the inspiration to open those paints and glues and get some of those kits built! If not just start sending them to us and we will build them, yeah right! Once again, welcome and enjoy the fellowship!

Hey Matt! Houston as in Houston, TX? I'm not far from ya.. if that be your place of residence maybe you can tell me where ya shop for kits... I'm in a bad spot for hobby shops and would drive a ways for a good shop with service to match...

There is an AWESOME place called Hobby Island on Richmond in Houston. They have a fantastic variety though most of it is military. In fact they advertise in Finescale in the classifieds.

Cool! thanks man! I'll have to go over there soon.. not much further than I am going now. (Larry's up on 45N and 1960) And if they can afford to advertise they might have the selection I am looking for!

There was a good place on 45S by Almeda Mall but I think they closed down... REAL good selection of kits..
