A big "Guten Tag" from Germany!

Hello I am from Bielefeld that is near Cologne in the west of Germany!
I start with a question for all subscribers from abroad,like me, why can't we
participate in the Sweepstakes?
I mean we also receive ACADEMY models in Germany,or elsewhere as well as
the Fine Scale Modeler magazine...
I still would be confident if we get half of the prize (250$) of it in case we win.
But probably we have to wait for a chance later.
Anyway I want to say there is no better magazine on earth and the prise for a foreign magazine is just wonderful!!! Smile [:)]

Hello..! It's something to do with laws on lotteries being different in different countries I think. Shame cause I'd really like to win this lottery!

Hope so, at the moment I am working on Mk II. C Hurricane (Revell/Hasegawa).

I tell you it's a small world, my mother in law's family come from Bielefeld (my father in law comes from Bonnigheim), they migrated to Australia in the 60's.

Now thats funny,the world is such a tiny thing.Do you know the road in which she lived ?
Maybe she knows the Humboldtstrasse but I am sure she knows the Jahnplatz?!:)

My mother in law lived in Sieker down DetmolderStrasse. She said remembers the name of Humboldstrasse but knows well Jahnplatz. (near the centre of town where all the tram stops where).

I know Sieker quite well,because a friend of mine lives there...
But some things of course have changed:
The Jahnplatz got tram station but now they transfered them under ground.

I have no relatives from there, but have been to Cologne, and I have to say the whole region is wonderful! I took the train from near Frankfurt to Dusseldorf, and we stopped in Cologne both on the trip to Dusseldorf and back to Frankfurt to tour. I *HAD* to see the cathedral! The first time I got off the train it was very late at night and I walked into the street and there it was... with all the lights on it.. WOW!!!

The next time it was during the day and I took a tour of it inside. Very beautiful! And to think it took 700 years to build!

Yeah I think it took a long time but I Have to tell you I 've never been to Cologne yet but I 'll soon get my chance I am sure.
I know looked it up they started to build it 1248 and finished 1880 pretty long time;)...
